Course Code: CELDT-03

A strong portfolio, together with an artist’s statement, is essential for admission into college art programs. Through this course, students will acquire both technical and critical skills necessary to compile a portfolio that is representative of each student’s unique voice and talent, as well as demonstrative of his/her scope of conceptual abilities and technical competencies.

By the end of this course students will gain confidence in: Selecting and compiling work Writing an effective artist’s statement Preparing slides Mounting and matting work Presentation techniques for 2D and 3D work In addition to technical skills, we will focus on: Understanding what schools look for Instilling habit of critical analysis in one’s own work as well as others’ Understanding how to select and present work that demonstrates the breath of the artist’s work Critiques will be an integral part of the course as it will allow student to strengthen his/her own work and provide insight into the ways in which portfolios are reviewed during the admissions process.

At this level, your child or teen can comfortably communicate in familiar situations with complete ease. It's now time to focus on acquiring a strong academic language to ace the CELDT and excel in his/her regular academic coursework.
